Project the safe disposal of agricultural waste

TADE aims to improve the health and environmental conditions in 6 villages in Malawy and Abokorkas districts through employing and training 110 youth (males/ females) to work as environmental ambassadors in the fields, in the period from July 1, 2014, to October 31, 2015.

Project Activities:

  • Employing 110 youth (males/ females) in 6 villages in Malawy and Abokorkas districts.
  • Conducting a number of sessions about how to transform agricultural waste into compost (organic fertilizer) in addition to raising their awareness of the harmful effects of environmental pollution.
  • Training 10,000 farmers on how to implement compost units.
  • Raising the awareness of 4500 women of the harmful effects and diseases resulting from environmental pollution.

The achieved objectives:

  • Training 10,000 farmers on how to implement compost units.
  • Training 110 youth (males/ females) on how to present awareness messages to the project beneficiaries.
  • Implementing 25 awareness sessions discussing health and environmental issues in the targeted villages.
  • Training the targeted female beneficiaries on how to implement clean and improved cowsheds.
