Project Development Funded By Kiva

About Kiva :

Kiva is an international nonprofit organization that expands financial access to help underserved communities thrive. Launched in 2005 with its first crowdfunded loan, over 5 million people have since used Kiva loans to change their lives. The organization prioritizes unbanked populations, connecting them directly with lenders worldwide through crowdfunding. Kiva is celebrated for its commitment to transparency and real impact, offering loans starting from $25 that can make a meaningful difference. Kiva follows the policy of having only one partner in each country, and Together Association for Development and Environment (TADE) in Upper Egypt has been able to be the official and only partner of the Kiva Foundation in Egypt.

Cooperation Together Association with Kiva as a partner:

Since December 2014, the Together Association for Development and Environment (TADE) has maintained a strategic partnership with Kiva, working to empower marginalized groups in the governorates of Minia and Beni Suef. TADE provides financing to female-headed households and youth, enabling them to either launch new income-generating projects or develop their existing ones. All financing decisions are carried out by a qualified loan team, based on a thorough feasibility study and a comprehensive social assessment of each beneficiary. Loan amounts range from 1,000 to 250,000 Egyptian Pounds, depending on the nature and needs of each project. Operating primarily in rural and semi-urban areas, TADE focuses on funding small-scale projects across four key sectors: agricultural, commercial, production, and service-based activities. These projects are specifically designed to increase the income of low-income families and create sustainable job opportunities for young people. The primary target beneficiaries are female-headed households and unemployed or underemployed youth.

Cooperation impact:
    • Improved economic stability: Increased income for small and micro-project owners, especially those who expanded their work.
    • New opportunities created: Provided sustainable jobs for unemployed youth and female-headed households, leading to greater financial independence.
    • Enhanced capacities: Strengthened the skills of project owners through targeted training and hands-on support from TADE team.
    • Agricultural development achieved: Supported measurable growth and innovation in Minia’s agricultural sector, reinforcing its competitive advantage.
